Patrick Laude

Professor Laude is a scholar, author, and a professor of religious studies at Georgetown University.  Patrick’s teachings and research interests encompass comparative mysticism, poetry and Western representations and interpretations of Asian spiritual and wisdom traditions, with a focus on contemporary spiritual figures including Louis Massignon, Henry Corbin, and Frithjof Schuon. He has extended his work on the writings of Frithjof Schuon, who is best known as the foremost spokesman of the “Traditionalist” or “Perennialist” school, by editing several new editions of Schuon’s books. He is indeed himself an authority on Perennial Philosophy.
Patrick will go through Schuon’s work in the form of a substantial dialogue between himself and Reza Shah-Kazemi. In each dialogue they will discuss a chapter from Schuon’s books, sharing with us their knowledge on the subject and elucidating some of the most significant implications of Schuon’s works.
